Family Support in Lincolnshire with Homestart

The Home-Start Approach

We believe that children need a happy and secure childhood and that parents and carers play the key role in giving their children the best possible start in life by helping them to achieve their potential.

We provide a unique service; recruiting and training volunteers who themselves have parenting experience, to work with families in their own homes, building supportive relationships and responding directly to the family's individual needs.

Home-Start Lincolnshire is a local charity offering support, friendship and practical help to families with young children.

Home-Start has been operating in Lincolnshire since 1984 developing a network of eight local organisations, with a proven, lasting, positive impact in the development of children and the health and welfare of families. Home-Start supports over 1000 families a year with more than 2000 children. In April 2016 the development of Home-Start Lincolnshire brought all these organisations together to create a unified approach to family support across the county.

From 1st April 2016 each scheme has joined together to be managed and funded centrally to form Home-Start Lincolnshire - the support to families will remain the same but by working together the larger and stronger charity can help more families and children.

A single charity means we can make savings and work more efficiently, whilst supporting even more local families and children in need of help. Our staff and volunteers will now be able to make an even bigger difference to people's lives in Lincolnshire.

Home-Start Lincolnshire will have the continued support of our national organisation Home-Start UK and will continue to cover the whole county through four areas: East Lindsey, Boston and South Holland, North and South Kesteven, Lincoln and Gainsborough.
